We Believe You Should Love Where You Live

We live in an eclectic community, embracing the nostalgia of Appalachian ways while exploring the arts, local flavor, and all things adventure in our small mountain towns. Here's a glimpse into daily life with some real estate tips for buyers and sellers to make your move to the mountains.

You hear of those small towns where people have a connection with almost everyone. Murphy is one of those towns, nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina. On our wedding day, we had friends and family from all over the Southeast and Midwest, even some from the West Coast. At the reception, they all had one thing in common, they immediately said, “Everywhere we went in town knew that today we were in town for your wedding. It’s like you live in Mayberry!”

I won’t lie, it was a bit of culture shocking coming from the city where convenience is king and you have everything at your fingertips. The traffic was easy to leave behind, so were those Midwestern winters, but I struggled with missing the 24/7 conveniences of urban living. With the change of pace came the realization that the genuine connections we were making topped any franchise. We became involved in our community, in our church, and got to know other small business owners.

If we ever need a city fix, we can be to Atlanta, Asheville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, or even Greenville within 2 hours, but we always appreciate our mountains when we return. So let us take you on a weekly journey to take in the sites of our mountains… where NC begins.

We love our chats about local businesses, events, and day trips!
